RISE TO THE TOP

Josiel Gonzalez, owner and operator of GLZ Photography, started his visual storytelling journey five years ago using just his iPhone. What began as a simple hobby of capturing moments turned into a serious passion.

After getting a summer job, he bought a Canon Rebel T7, his first real camera. For three years, he focused on learning photography through consistent practice. Recognizing his progress, he upgraded to a Sony mirrorless system, first the a7iii and then the a7iv. After graduating high school, he expanded into videography, adding moving images to his creative repertoire.

Josiel believes that mastering the fundamentals of photography is more important than having expensive gear. He advises aspiring photographers to focus on learning the basics, practicing consistently, and being patient, rather than immediately buying top-of-the-line equipment. He emphasizes that proficiency can be achieved with entry-level cameras through dedication and understanding of photographic principles.
