Clemson Sends a Message, Downs Miami to Stay Unbeaten in the ACC
The Tigers are up and rolling in ACC play. They now stand at 6–0 in the conference and 16–3 overall. They played Miami today, and I was on site firsthand to see it—they looked fast and strong. The Tigers dominated most of the game and withstood Miami’s late push, taking down the Hurricanes 69–59 in front of a loud, packed home crowd.
Many weren’t sure if this year’s team, with so many new faces, could compete in a tough ACC, but they’ve done more than compete—they are tied for first place with Duke. They have depth, athleticism, and are well coached under Brad Brownell, who has, for now, silenced the doubters who were calling for his job as recently as last season. This Tigers team slowed a powerful Miami offense that was averaging around 80 points per game to a measly 59 tonight. If one thing is clear about the Tigers, they aren’t just here to compete—they are here to win the whole conference.
