Monday staff updates.

There were whispers around Clemson that change was coming, the kind of offseason shakeup that signals urgency and recalibration. But conversations I had today suggest those expectations may have been premature.

A source familiar with the situation indicated that significant changes to the current structure are unlikely in the near future. Outside of the expected departures—namely support staffers leaving to join John Grass as he assembles his new staff—there is little movement anticipated. It’s not what many Clemson fans are hoping to hear, but at this moment, that’s the reality on the ground.

When asked how the board might view a lack of substantial change, the response was candid. “Unless Neff forces Dabo’s hand, I don’t expect many big splash fires,” the source said. Despite widespread reporting to the contrary, Garrett Riley’s future has never been as clear-cut as some have suggested. While it may have felt inevitable to many that Riley was already out the door weeks ago, I had consistently heard that his fate was not fully sealed.

As the conversation shifted from coaching to roster construction, attention naturally turned to the transfer portal—and that’s where Clemson appears poised to be more assertive. Based on both internal conversations and public comments from the coaching staff, there’s little doubt the Tigers plan to be aggressive. It doesn’t take much reading between the lines to reach that conclusion.

Quarterback remains the biggest question mark. While there has been uncertainty about whether Clemson would seriously pursue a portal quarterback, I’d wager they at least make a run at one.

I’ll have more updates later as things develop. For now, this is where matters stand in Clemson.
