Western Michigan Dominates Kennesaw State in 2025 Myrtle Beach Bowl
The 2025 Myrtle Beach Bowl featured a strong showing from Western Michigan, who defeated Kennesaw State 41–6 at Brooks Stadium in Conway, South Carolina. The game quickly swung in favor of the Broncos, who set the tone early and maintained control for all four quarters.
Western Michigan Dominance
Western Michigan made an immediate impact by scoring on the opening play, which gave them early confidence. From there, the offense stayed consistent, using effective runs and timely passes to keep Kennesaw State’s defense on their toes. The Broncos continued to add touchdowns throughout the game, building a lead that allowed them to stay composed.
Kennesaw State’s Struggles
Kennesaw State struggled to find consistency for most of the game but managed to score late on a long touchdown pass. While the Owls played until the final whistle, turnovers and early mistakes made it difficult to keep the game competitive. As I neared the Broncos sideline, I heard one of the players lend some words of encouragement to the teammates, “Keep your foot on their [expletive] necks.”
Key Moment
The win was a great way for Western Michigan to close out their season and showed the team’s ability to perform on a national stage. It also marked a historic achievement, as the Broncos became the first team to win the SAC championship and follow it up with a bowl game victory.
Big Picture
Overall, the Myrtle Beach Bowl highlighted the importance of preparation and execution, with Western Michigan clearly capitalizing on its opportunities.
